I spent a good bit of time creating a nice web page of all the groups and ministries and contact information for the same for my new Catholic home. It is amazing and wonderful how many areas there are to get involved with in this church. Is it the same in all Catholic churches? From a bingo worker to a proclaimer to a grounds crew... there are any number of areas to help.
I was on the Finance Committee of my Methodist Church and we were under constant pressure to pay for our musicians, pay for our groundskeeping, pay for snow removal, pay for this and that and everything. Would anyone volunteer their skills? Would anyone use their vocations for the good of the church and not to line their pockets? Almost never. This is a breath of fresh air.
